Dredging Contaminated Material

Location: Tacoma, Washington

Project Description: Dredge 40,000 cubic yards of contaminated sediment from the Hylebos Waterway. The dredged material was piped through 1,000 linear feet of pipeline with multiple valves to test the slurry of material that is being dredged and disposed of into treatment and dewatering systems. Once the material was treated and dewatered, it was kept in containment and disposed of in the permitted area for this form of contaminate. The water was treated and tested in multiple stages and was finally pumped back into the waterway.
