Water Intake Structure: Excavation Support

Location: Mississippi River, New Orleans, LA

Client Request: Provide a turn-key solution for excavating 9,000 cubic yards of river sediment that has accumulated in and around the municipalties water intake structure. Minimimal turbidity is required to ensure minimal facility downtime as well as having the ability excavate in confined spaces.

Our Solution: The “Miss Beulah” crane barge as well as a smaller flexi-float barge served as the work platforms. We utilized our DP-150 dredge system to accomplish the majority of the excavation before swithing to the DP-75 for the confined areas.

Job Status: Successfully Completed
